Large estate close to the sea in Ivasnjak, Omis Riviera - apartments Gandalj |
 Estate Gandalj, Ivasnjak ( arhaic name for the stone in the sea where fish live) was bult by the famous Croatian painter and sculptor Joko Knezevic 50 years ago. He was born in Lokva Rogoznica, village higher in the mountain, and Ivasnjak is its hamlet.
His inheritors have been renewing house in nowadays, wishing to keep the old spirit and testemony of the painter in the best possible way. Estate Gandalj consists of 2 houses; the bigger one is with 3 apartments on the first floor and art galery at the ground-floor. There is a large piece of the land on the backside of the house which is used as an open theatre in August, the 23th, but in everydays it is used as a court for playing badgminton, or any other sports. Also, there is an air-barbecue and large stone table with mosaic made by Joko Knezevic, ideal space for evening meals.
The estate enthraling ground of about 2.000m2, with hugh backside space and additional yard in front of the house. Each apartment has a sea view.
There is another, smaller house used as an apartment on two ettages.House is air distance to the sea about 70m, but situated above the main road. Luckilly, there is no need to cross the road when going to the beach - there is a foot-path bellow the road.
The post office and a market are about 600m far ( without crossing the road). There are several nice pebble beaches near, one just bellow the house with possibility to make excursions by boat; other one named Artina about 300m far with a coffee bar and restaurant.
The nearest petrol station, bank and ambulance are in Omis ( 5 km far) wellknown in the past as a pirats town. In nowadays it is famous about rafting in canyon of the river Cetina.  |  |
